Middle School Field Hockey Coach
REPORTS TO:
Head Coach/Athletic Director/Assistant Athletic Director
WORK HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS:
On/off-campus responsibilities from 2:45 pm until 4:30 pm Monday through Friday from 08/19-11/13. Coaching responsibilities may result in extended weekday or weekend commitments. Coaching responsibilities may result in extended weekday or weekend commitments, depending on evening games and/or playoffs. All coaches are employed on a seasonal basis, and continued employment is based on annual performance reviews conducted by the Athletic Director.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working closely with the Athletic department, the coach of the program is responsible for initiating various aspects of the field hockey program, such as program development, training, and coaching team members. The coach is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Parish Episcopal School. Parish Episcopal School is a member of TAPPS.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred;
- Possess and maintain a coaching philosophy that is in accordance with the mission statement & educational philosophy of Parish Episcopal School
- A strong commitment to the student-athlete concept;
- 1-3 years of Coaching or playing experience preferred
- Effective leadership, coaching
- Excellent communication skills with players, parents, and the athletic department;
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Encourage, train, and coach the participants of the program
- Attend practices and matches
- Coordinate with the head coach the distribution and collection of uniforms and equipment
- Aid in managing and maintaining equipment and uniforms
- Schedule and organize practice sessions
- Represent Parish Episcopal School and the program in a professional manner and within the bounds of good sportsmanship;
This is an exempt position that is paid a coaching stipend over the duration of the season
